Blanka Barabás poet visited the Open Hands Association

Blanka Barabás, the eighteen-year-old poet from Cristuru Secuiesc, was Borbély András`s guest, who is a youth mentor, focusing on accompanying young talents on their path, at the Open Hands Association in Gheorgheni. The young girl got acquainted with the littérateur within the framework of the Find Your Way To The World of Work project of Caritas Alba Iulia. Thanks to their cooperation, several of the poet’s poems have been published and she is currently working on her first volume of poems with the help of her patron.

The meeting on the 10th of August was prompted by a group session held jointly by the mentors of the Youth for Change project of Caritas Alba Iulia and the Open Hands Association. Young people participated in the session and they joined the project to discover their abilities, to find their way, and last but not least: to create artistic productions together in which they express their thoughts and opinion regarding questions and topics they are mostly interested in.

Borbély András wanted to present Blanka as an example to the group, as someone who not long ago was searching for herself, but is now living her own dream. He invited her to talk about her journey, challenges, and to delight the community with her poems. „Who am I?” – asked herself Blanka before writing her poem with the same title. Perhaps the members of the small group also asked themselves the same question as they listened to her in awe. The air was filled with the hope that someday they would all find their way.
