Encounters that create opportunities

Fifty graduating students met last Friday with representatives of five companies from Tîrgu-Mureș during the event entitled „Meet Your Future Boss”, organized at Studium HUB by the youth mentors of the Association Caritas Alba Iulia. The event was attended by 11th and 12th-grade students from the „Ion Vlasiu”, „Traian Vuia”, and „Avram Iancu” Technological High Schools, accompanied by their form-masters. The aim of the meeting was to introduce young people to various professional fields, trades, and businesses in order to support their conscious career choices. In this effort, the teenagers were supported by companies like Napa Impex, FomCo Group, Uniprest Instal, Glass Centre, and Virtual Assistant Nagy Noémi.

After a brief introduction, specialists from the mentioned companies invited the students to their tables for informal discussions. Organized in small groups, the students managed to speak with each company representative. They learned, for example, that Napa Impex is involved in high-level electrical installations; that FomCo Group consists of several companies which are active in sectors such as: real estate (FomCo Imobiliare), solar panel installation (FomCo Solar), woodworking (FomCo Wood), heavy vehicle servicing (FomCoTruck), route planning (FomCoGPS), or the world of tachographs, which measure driver`s driving and relaxation time (FomCo Optimizing Your Speed); that Glass Centre meets the requirements of several types of companies or individuals, who are planning to build various buildings, by providing high-quality, even uniquely processed glasses; that Uniprest distributes cooling and heating systems intended exclusively for professional installers; and from Nagy Noémi the students learned what the work of a freelance virtual assistant entails.

All company representatives emphasized that they are open to welcoming new employees and supporting young people at the beginning of their careers, provided that the applicants show genuine interest in the presented fields and are willing to make up for their lack of experience by learning the specifics of the job. The event was an excellent opportunity for graduates of technological high schools to gain insight into the workings of several technically oriented businesses and to build personal connections that could help them secure employment in the future.
