The 14th of November is the day when churches worldwide pay special attention to the poor since this Sunday is considered to be the Fifth World Day of the Poor, initiated by Pope Francis. It’s not unwitting, that it’s close to the Saint Elisabeth of the House of Árpád Feast, since the Archdiocesan Caritas’s traditionally organized charity program takes also place that day, this time for indigent, disadvantaged children.
„Saint Elisabeth’s Feast is a message, a warning for us to transform the lessons learned from her example into actions. In our world full of crisis, beside all of our personal challenges, we have to strive for seeing others’ difficulties, their physical and spiritual necessities as well”-writes dr. Gergely Kovács archbishop in his circular letter.
