Teenagers in search of their career path met future employers in Târgu Mureș

In fairy tales, mothers would send their youngest boys on their way with ash-baked scones. Mentors from the Find Your Way To The World of Work programme did the same on Friday, when they welcomed with water and cheese scones the graduating classes who had signed up for the Meet your future boss event in Târgu Mures. The cosy courtyard of Caritas was filled with cheerful young people who, in addition to scones and water, received a mini CV, a raffle and a set of questions in a “bag” with Earning by Learning writing on it, which they could soon address to the representatives of the companies who were present in Room A of the building.
Here people from Petry, Leroy Merlin, Sólyom Restaurant, KFC, Triplast, S.C. Napa Impex S.R.L., Takács Edith-Móna P.F.A., J.Cob Creative and Caritas Alba Iulia were waiting the 11th and 12th grade students of the Adalbert Szász Sports High School, the Ion Vlasiu Technological High School and the Constantin Brâncuși Technological High School for a friendly conversation.
While some of the young people were seated in a circle at the tables of the company representatives, others attended a test interview with HR expert Orsolya Simon in Room B of the Caritas House. The students were shy at first, they approached timidly the company executives, but once they experienced their kindness and goodwill, they became more and more courageous in asking questions and asking for their raffle tickets to be stamped. And those who took part in the test interview, gained a lot of valuable information about how to write a CV, what and how to say in a job interview.
Éva Bojoievschi and Áron Székely, mentors of the Find Your Way To The World Of Work programme, in collaboration with the Saint Georgius Manager Club, organized the Meet your future boss event to give young people in search of their career path first-hand information about specific professions. The meeting of 100 students with company representatives also offered the possibility of short-term summer jobs or long-term applications, as the invited companies are in constant need of staff. Concluding from the relaxed atmosphere, interested faces and all that buzz, we assume, the event achieved its goal: beside the fact that young people gained information, they also were able to do some networking which would certainly help them in finding their future jobs.
The event ended with drawing the stamped raffle tickets from the sealed box. The lucky winners were awarded with a gift voucher that they could redeeme for a delicious coffee or mentoring at Gemma Book Café in Târgu Mures.
