Volunteer camp at Lăzarea

Caritas Alba Iulia organizes a volunteer camp for the twentieth time, at the twentieth location. This year’s locations are Lăzarea and an attached part of it, Ghiduț, and the period is in between the 3rd-8th of July. Sixty volunteers from every direction of the compass rose work in the spirit of charity, and among other things, they are tidying the Community Center from Ghiduț, beautifying the Cold Well resting place, leaving their mark in the center of Lăzarea…

The campers participate in presentations, cultural and leisure activities, and are building a community. They also want to learn, the old ladies from Ghiduţ introduce them to medicinal herbs, dance teachers teach them dance steps, architects show them the cultural landscapes and heritages, there will even be an opportunity to stargaze.

The volunteer camp is not only for the youth, not only for the campers. Every day there is an event that appeals to the local people and to those who live in the surroundings. The descriptions of these can be read below.

Tuesday, the 4th of July, 10-12 AM

Pensioners’ planet – thematic activity for retired people:

People of retirement age from Lăzarea and its surroundings are warmly welcomed.

Old people are not irrelevant, they have plans, they hope for something every day, and difficulties are a part of their lives, indeed. Crying alone is pointless, the company of other people is good if we can’t take it anymore. Those who need communal relaxation, the presence of others and good company are welcomed on the 4th of July, between 10-12 AM at the Cika hall of Lăzarea’s Community Center.

Wednesday, the 5th of July, 10-12 AM

Sitting exercises for the body, maintenance exercises for the mind

Location: Lăzarea, Community Centre, Cika hall

Group leader: Gabriella Gáll, movement developer

People of retirement age from Lăzarea and its surroundings are warmly welcomed.

Body and brain exercises are included in the offer. With aging comes the woe. It hurts here, it stings there, the limbs don’t obey, the waist hurts too. The group leader shows how to move the body in a simple sitting position, so that afterwards it will be easier to start moving. The “rusting” of the mind is caused by age too, and a little brain exercise in groups, with high spirits, is also in the activity’s program, to make it easier to maintain the body and the mind at home. Come and join us in this activity on Wednesday, on the 5th of July, between 10-12 AM, at the Cika hall in Lăzarea.

Wednesday, the 5th of July 5, 5-7 PM
