Wound dance
The initial acquaintance was replaced by deep conversations in the groups of the Youth for Change project. Abuse was one of the most sensitive topics. The young people –anonymously-dared to reveal their individual injuries to their mentor. The healing process began collectively. It started with the understanding that abuse is constant: we get hurt, we cause pain, it’s a vicious circle. And although it’s wrong because it leads to woundedness, increased aggression, alienation, and lovelessness, accepting the reality of aggression makes us more conscious. We catch ourselves more easily when we hurt, would hurt, or don’t react instinctively, with upset emotions to offenses. We behave more thoughtfully. Along this theme, a poem was also born.
In parallel, Zenkő Bekő-Fóri youth mentor and Ervin Ruszuly choreographer held some dance workshops for the young people. They associated words with the body. They tried to express with movements what words like “God” or “freedom” ment to them. They experienced what it’s like to ritually move together around a long table, and then move independently from the group.
Short scenes are created from the composition of songs and movements, which the creators will present at the Cultural House in Odorheiu Secuiesc on Saturday, the 24th of February, at 1-3 o`clock pm.
